Starting today, December 1, 2020, you are able to apply for permission to work part-time of 28 hours a week until you are able to go back home.
You may apply given you are in the following situation:
- You are unable to book a flight to your home country due to COVID-19.
- You do not have enough financial resources to support your stay in Japan.
Documents will be required as proof for the conditions above.
The working permit is for short-term visitors like tourist visa, business or visit relatives, and even foreign nationals who have designated activities visa but are not allowed to work until they have completed their training.
